Rooftop garden ...

Today I started to plant my rooftop garden! I live in a 2 story townhouse with a mini backyard that doesn't get a whole lot of sunshine. Last year my garden was so pathetic, I couldn't get anything to grow, until (lightbulb), I put all of my pots on the roof. They get a little sun in the morning and afternoon, it's perfect! I must admit, it's a pain in the behind to climb the ladder each and every time I need to water, but, at the same time it's kind of fun ... plus, I get to say I have a rooftop garden! :)

I'll share photos when everything starts to sprout, but, in the meantime, here is some lovely eye candy for you ...

I'm just gonna do it ...

I have decided that working full time does not work well with my want and need to make things! It is very hard ... and I mean VERY hard to muster up enough energy at the end of my work day to do anything more than put on my PJ's and get ready for bed (I'm pathetic, I know). Ultimately, I have no choice but to work ... so, it's inevitable ... I must figure out a way to balance work, life, and my creativity.

Renee's post Just Do It was just what I needed! It is so easy to talk about what we want to do (it's that whole easier said than done thing), but actually doing it is another story. Renee my love, you have inspired me to try that much harder each day to do accomplish something crafty.

A cute camera bag ...

As I mentioned here I purchased a brand new camera that I crazily take everywhere with me. You never know when there may be a picture perfect moment that you have to capture, right? Anyway - I desperately need a camera bag to protect this precious cargo and also to have all the accoutrement at my fingertips (the flash, extra lens', etc.) ... but jeez ... the camera bag's out there are SO boring! I have been searching the web for days trying to find the perfect camera bag. Thank the Lord - today I stumbled across gypsyrosehandbags ... her designs are absolutely ADORABLE!!

Oh so inspired ...

I visited THE cutest little store in Claremont over the weekend and was so inspired! This store is filled with a plethora of household cuteness that has a handmade, vintage - e vibe! I am in love!

Of course this little visit got my wheels spinning and I added three new projects to my to do list. One of which I could NOT wait to start on! :) I am working on it now and can't wait to share. It consists of paint, a picture frame, fabric, thread, a needle, and BUTTONS (my favorite)!

I plan to spend my weekend doing the following:

1. Laundry and house cleaning.
2. Finish one, maybe two page's in my art journal.
3. Visit 1 thrift store and 1 estate sale.
4. Give the pug a bath.
5. Work on mother's day projects (THIS IS A MUST - it will be here before we know it!).

Will I ever be on time ...?

I am beginning to realize that I will NEVER become a morning person. They always say "when there is a will - there is a way", but let me tell you, I have the will and there is just NO way!! When you aren't a morning person, you MUST have a reliable alarm clock! I have two and it still doesn't do the trick! I slept straight through both alarms this morning ... how does that happen?

I'd never sleep through these ...



Perhaps this cute clock will inspire me to rise and shine in the morning ...


(I have a weakness for Owls - so cute!!)

Granny Squares ...

I have been desperate to make a granny square blanket using these colors ...



There is just something about these colors that make me smile! :)

Yesterday ... I mastered the Granny Square! F-I-N-A-L-L-Y! I have been working at this for weeks. I was beginning to think I would never get it, but alas, persistence has paid off (just don't look to close) ...







2 down, way to many to go - this project may take years! :)
